Senior Ministry

An Integral Part of the Church Community

Our Senior Citizen Ministry is a vibrant and active ministry at Russell Woods Church of Christ. The Senior Citizens continue to be an integral part of the church community.

Our Senior Citizen Ministry is a tightly knit group, providing fellowship and fun in a safe and relaxing atmosphere. We come together for many social activities including a luncheons, trips to the apple orchard, and dinner cruises. We fellowship together, encouraging and exhorting each other, in Christian love!

Providing Community Outreach

The Senior Citizen Ministry allows strives to help those in need. We continue to reach beyond our walls to touch the community. Every year, the Seniors provide community outreach through:

• Hutzel Hospital Annual Community Baby Shower – providing needed baby items to newborns
• Supporting the Detroit Rescue Mission – a non-profit agency providing food, shelter, and services to homeless and those struggling with substance addiction
• Twin Bed Blanket Project – the Seniors donate dozens of twin bed blankets to various shelters throughout the area as a year round project
